An article that appeared in World Net Daily on February 14 of this year received little or no attention in the major media. According to World Net Daily's reporter, this Obama sponsored bill would potentially allocate
"$845 billion more for global poverty" which  [and] would cost 0.7% of gross national product.

"Sen. Barack Obama, perhaps giving America a preview of priorities he would pursue if elected president, is rejoicing over the Senate committee passage of a plan that could end up costing taxpayers billions of dollars in an attempt to reduce poverty in other nations.

"The bill, called the Global Poverty Act, is the type of legislation, 'We can – and must – make … a priority,' said Obama, a co-sponsor.

"It would demand that the president develop 'and implement' a policy to 'cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015 through aid, trade, debt relief' and other programs.

"When word about what appears to be a massive new spending program started getting out, the reaction was immediate.

" 'It's not our job to cut global poverty,' said one commenter on a Yahoo news forum. 'These people need to learn how to fish [for] themselves. If we keep throwing them fish, the fish will rot.' "

"A nice-sounding bill called the "Global Poverty Act," sponsored by Democratic presidential candidate and Senator Barack Obama, is up for a Senate vote on Thursday and could result in the imposition of a global tax on the United States. The bill, which has the support of many liberal religious groups, makes levels of U.S. foreign aid spending subservient to the dictates of the United Nations.

"The bill, which is item number four on the committee's business meeting agenda, passed the House by a voice vote last year because most members didn't realize what was in it. Congressional sponsors have been careful not to calculate the amount of foreign aid spending that it would require. According to the website of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, no hearings have been held on the Obama bill in that body."

GLOBAL POVERTY BILL (info found 11-24-08)

As an example- did you know that Senators Obama and Biden have ALREADY introduced a bill in the Senate - (it has a warm and fuzzy title) GLOBAL POVERTY.
In it- it spreads OUR wealth around- THE WORLD and gives THE UNITED NATIONS the power to take the guns of private citizens ! It's sitting there - waiting to be passed in January. And this is just one bill.
